Retraining Muscles

I did some grunt work yesterday that took about an hour. I woke up this morning a bit sore in the arms. That was surprising. Over the past couple of months I had been pumping out some push-ups (squats, lunges, stretches etc) to keep myself exercised. I felt even if I am not in top form, a mini grunt work shouldn’t get me sore. But the feeling in my arms tell a different story.

Moving from my physical health to my intellectual health, I find another muscle waning. When I first picked up the pace in publishing everyday, I never dreamt of skipping, even if the day went poorly. Then I made an elaborate excuse and stopped for a while (which I wrote about on 24th). I promised myself to restart on that same day, but here I am, having skipped a day like it was nothing.

To get back in shape, you train the fably muscles everyday, become sore, rest and train again. There’s no goal point where you stop training. I see the same, here now. To write everyday, no matter what. There is no end point. Then like improving reps and training different muscles to be balanced out, it would be working towards improving my process while writing rather than just writing.

Thoughts for the day.
